You know, dating is tough. It’s like a job interview, but instead of trying to impress your potential boss, you’re trying to impress someone you might want to make out with.
So, I went on this first date last week, and I was so excited. I spent hours picking out the perfect outfit, doing my makeup, and making sure my breath didn’t smell like a dumpster fire. But as soon as I got to the restaurant, I knew it wasn’t going to be a love connection.
First off, the guy was wearing a fedora. Yeah, you know, that hat that makes you look like you’re trying way too hard to be cool. And then he proceeded to talk about himself for an hour straight. I barely got a word in. I swear, I could have left the table, and he wouldn’t have even noticed.
But the worst part was when the check came. He looked at me and said, “So, do you want to split it?” Split it? I mean, I’m all for equality, but come on, dude, you asked me out.
So, I did what any self-respecting woman would do. I reached into my purse, pulled out a 20, and said, “Here you go, buddy. Thanks for a lovely evening.”
Needless to say, I won’t be going on a second date with that guy. But hey, at least I got a good story out of it. And who knows, maybe my next first date will be with someone who doesn’t wear a fedora and has decent table manners. A girl can dream, right?
