INTERCOURSE Pennsylvania, The town formerly named ‘Cross Keys’ is one of the funniest names in the US. In the 1700’s the definition of intercourse was – fellowship, social interaction, In a community of faith. Yep the word means “Sex”. Think about it. What is sex, but fellowship and social interaction between 2 or more people. (Those who pet the Google do not count) And as for ‘A community of faith’, well the only position allowed back then was the missionary position.
But in a town there were outcasts. Those whom were not offered that type of social interaction, And thus only allowed to look on. They were the ones that moved eight miles away, Built a motel, And called it the ‘Blue Ball Hotel’. Also that became the town name. As you guessed it was a town of men only.
Today of course the population has boomed, And travelers co there just to have intercourse. Some of the laws and dos’s and don’ts in this state include.
- No man may purchase alcohol without written consent from his wife.
- Coasting on Beaver Street is illegal
- You can’t sit down while watering your lawn with a hose.
- It is illegal to put pretzels in bags.
- It is illegal to have sex with a truck driver inside a toll booth.
- By law, “watch stuffers” are unwelcome
- It is required that a woman have a permit to wear cosmetics.
- All fire hydrants must be checked one hour before all fires.
- There is a ban on men becoming aroused in public.
That last one seems to negate the town’s name.
